Job summary

Upper Hunter Shire Council in Scone is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Building Surveyor to assess applications, certify buildings, and perform inspections across the Shire. You will advise on building, plumbing and drainage requirements and help residents navigate regulatory processes.

The role offers site visits, technical decision-making and strong community impact, with opportunities for training, leave entitlements, and a supportive council environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying or related field with experience in a similar role.
• Eligibility to obtain at least building surveyor–restricted registration for Class 1 and 10 buildings under the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018.
• Sound knowledge and experience in building control and development assessment.
• Ability to analyse problems, resolve disputes and communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
