Job summary

Upper Hunter Shire Council is seeking a Building Surveyor to assess applications, certify buildings, and carry out inspections across the Shire. You will provide practical guidance on building, plumbing and drainage, and work with residents and builders to resolve questions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying or related field.
• Eligibility for building surveyor registration for Class 1 and 10 buildings.
• Knowledge of building control and development assessment.
• Ability to analyse problems and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Assess applications and provide building certification services.
• Carry out inspections to support safe, compliant development.
• Provide clear advice on building, plumbing and drainage requirements.
• Engage with customers and colleagues to resolve questions and find workable solutions.
• Conduct site visits and make technical decisions as needed.
