Job summary

Albury Wodonga Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Building Services Technician to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is responsible for undertaking and overseeing all maintenance tasks within the hospital, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, corporate policies and approved budgets.

You will lead maintenance across trades, supervise contractors, maintain records, and ensure tasks meet service levels.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance, ideally within a hospital environment.
• Willingness to work across various trades areas within skill levels.
• Interest in assisting people and ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sound verbal and written communication, and strong computer literacy.
• Demonstrated customer service and problem-solving skills; able to work unsupervised and prioritise tasks.
• Experience in Quality Improvement principles and WH&S requirements.

Responsibilities

• Undertake assigned maintenance tasks including painting, wall patching, flooring, doors and locks, and gardening.
• Operate machinery and power/hand tools.
• Ensure comprehensive maintenance service aligned with standards, policies and budgets.
• Direct and manage maintenance contractors and staff to ensure competency.
• Ensure tasks meet defined service levels and keep maintenance records up to date.
• Achieve KPIs within the department and apply Australian Standards for private hospitals.

Albury Wodonga Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Building Services Technician to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

About the Role

The Building Services Technician is responsible for undertaking and overseeing all assigned maintenance tasks within the hospital. This role ensures the provision of a comprehensive maintenance service that complies with legislative standards, corporate policy guidelines, and approved hospital budgets. You will play a key part in maintaining our facilities, ensuring they meet the relevant Australian Standards associated with private hospital operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake assigned maintenance tasks as required, including painting, wall patching, flooring, doors and locks and gardening.
• Operate machinery and power/hand tools.
• Ensure the provision of a comprehensive maintenance service, adhering to legislative standards, corporate policy guidelines, and approved hospital budgets.
• Direct and manage the work of maintenance contractors and employees, ensuring their competency and technical knowledge align with required tasks.
• Ensure all assigned tasks are completed and meet defined service levels.
• Maintain all forms of maintenance records for the Hospital, keeping them fully up to date.
• Achieve Key Performance Indicators within the functions of the department.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the relevant Australian Standards associated with the maintenance of a private hospital facility.

About You

We are seeking a proactive and skilled professional who is passionate about maintaining high-quality facilities, with the following essential experience and attributes:

• Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance, ideally within a hospital environment.

• Sound verbal and written communication, and strong computer literacy skills.
• Demonstrated excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Experience in, and ongoing commitment to, Quality Improvement principles.
• Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements.

Remuneration

On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from$32.64 - $35.50+ superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW Maintenance Officer)
