Peninsula Private Hospital is seeking multiple Casual Environmental Services Assistants to join our dedicated team. Your core focus will be cleaning and maintaining our facility to the highest standards, and you will be a vital part of our patient care network.

Key duties include cleaning patient wards, vacuuming, mopping and safe handling of waste, with full training provided and strict adherence to infection control, WHS, and hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• Infection control basics knowledge and safety procedures.
• Available for a 7-day rotating roster including mornings, afternoons and nights.
• Ability to cover core shift patterns 7:00–15:00 and 15:00–23:00.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient wards, bedrooms, bathrooms, and support areas to high clinical standards.
• Perform vacuuming, mopping, and operate floor-cleaning machinery.
• Remove rubbish and medical waste safely according to procedures.
• Operate floor cleaning machinery; full training provided.
• Follow WHS and hospital protocols and report maintenance hazards.

About the Role

• Maintain patient wards, bedrooms, bathrooms, and support areas to the highest clinical standards.
• Perform vacuuming, mopping, and operate specialized floor-cleaning machinery.
• Remove rubbish and medical waste safely and efficiently in line with hospital procedures.
• Operate floor cleaning machinery and equipment (full training provided)
• Strictly follow Infection Control, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), and hospital protocols.
• Identify and report any maintenance issues, hazards, or safety concerns to supervisors.

About You:

• Previous housekeeping, cleaning, or environmental services experience is highly desirable.
• Availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster (including mornings, afternoons, and nights) is essential.
• Ability to cover core shift patterns of 7:00-15:00 and 15:00- 23:00
• A positive, patient, and compassionate approach, with a strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with a solid grasp of infection control basics, allowing you to follow safety guidelines and instructions with precision.
