Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking a Building Estimator in Sydney. The role suits someone transitioning from carpentry, with a hands-on understanding of residential and commercial construction, and strong estimating and quoting skills.

You will inspect properties, prepare cost estimates, compile insurer reports, coordinate trades, and maintain open communication with clients and stakeholders throughout restoration projects.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified, ideally carpentry or construction experience.
• Hands-on understanding of residential and commercial building methods.
• Strong estimating and quoting skills (or keen to develop them).
• Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills.
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Inspect residential and commercial properties to assess building damage.
• Prepare detailed scopes of work and accurate cost estimates.
• Compile causation and repair reports for insurers.
• Coordinate trades and oversee repairs through to completion.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, insurers, consultants, and subcontractors.
