Job summary

Kanj Brothers Rendering in Sydney is seeking an Estimator with hands-on experience in construction estimating. The successful candidate will bring estimating in-house, preparing detailed estimates and take-offs using Buildxact, reviewing drawings, and coordinating with project teams.

You will travel to sites across Sydney and Western Sydney, review supplier pricing, support tender submissions, and ensure accuracy and clarity in labour, materials, and access requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication with builders and site personnel.
• Current driver’s licence and ability to travel across Sydney.

Job description

The successful candidate will work closely with management and our project teams to prepare accurate estimates and help manage the commercial side of our projects. A key focus of the role will be bringing our estimating process in-house, creating a more streamlined and efficient system as the business continues to grow.

Key responsibilities

Preparing detailed estimates and take-offs using Buildxact

Reviewing architectural drawings, plans, specifications and scopes of work

Measuring areas and quantities for rendering, plastering and associated works

Reviewing project requirements and identifying labour, materials and access requirements

Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor pricing

Assisting with tender submissions and pricing

Visiting project sites across Sydney and Western Sydney

Tracking project progress and communicating with site teams and administration team

Assisting with variation mark-ups, measurements and pricing

About you

Experience using Buildxact or similar estimating software

The ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good understanding of construction processes and site environments

Strong computer and organisational skills

Good communication skills and confidence dealing with builders and site personnel

A current driver's licence

The ability to travel to various commercial projects throughout Sydney and Western Sydney

A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
