Job summary

The City of Salisbury is seeking motivated building professionals to join our Development Services team. Appointments may be made at Level 3, Level 4 or Level 5 depending on qualifications, accreditation, skills and experience.

Working within the Building team, you will assess development applications, support building compliance activities and respond to customer enquiries, helping ensure Salisbury development is safe and compliant with legislative requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Building Surveying or related field.
• Experience with development assessment and building compliance preferred.
• Understanding of Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and NCC.

Responsibilities

• Assess development applications and building documentation.
• Provide advice to applicants, builders, consultants and the community.
• Review plans, specifications and supporting documentation.
• Undertaking site inspections and compliance activities.
• Assisting with or managing development assessment processes.
• Preparing reports, recommendations and approval documentation.
• Applying the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and relevant legislation.
