Job summary

BESIX Watpac in Cairns is inviting applications for a Building Cadet or Graduate to join our North Queensland construction team. You will assist with preparing contract documents, support the tendering process and carry out general site administration duties.

You will gain hands-on experience across tender processes, trade packages, documentation control, and general project administration while studying Construction Management or Engineering.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Construction Management, Engineering, or similar qualification.
• Ability to communicate and build effective relationships at all levels of the project.
• Autonomy, initiative, sound reasoning, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with trade package tendering and tender documentation.
• Support progress payments, variations, and final accounts post-award.
• Compile and control project documents with a control register.
• Provide general project administration as required.

Job Description

BESIX Watpac has an exciting opportunity for a Building Cadet or Graduate to join our highly successful North QLD construction team in Cairns. In this role, you will assist with preparing contract documents, support the tendering process and carry out general site administration duties.

• Assist with the trade package tendering process including compilation and approval of tender documents and proposed tender list, issue of documents, receipt of tenders, comparison of tenders and submission of tender recommendation for approval.
• Assist with general administration of trade packages following award including progress payments, variations and final accounts.
• Compilation and control of project documents including maintenance of a control register. Ensure prompt issue of documentation to the respective parties.
• Assist with general project administration as required.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience

• Currently studying Construction Management, Engineering, or similar qualification.
• Ability to communicate and build effective relationships at all levels of the project.
• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, and decision-making skills.
