BESIX Watpac is seeking a Site Manager for our Queensland Construction team based in Cairns. You will lead site construction activities, coordinate subcontractors and deliveries, and drive safety, quality and on-time completion across our projects.

Responsibilities include managing programming, team leadership, liaising with design and authorities, and ensuring work aligns with contract documents and QA standards.

Job Description

BESIX Watpac is seeking a Site Manager to join our Qld Construction team based in Cairns. You will be responsible with managing the site construction teams and its activities, driving the programming and co-ordination of all subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries to deliver our projects safely, on program and to the highest standard.

This role will be responsible for:

• Proactively drive company safety, environment and quality policies, practices and procedures in compliance with Management Plans and OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.
• Coordinate all construction activities on and off site and be in total control of all issues that affect the efficient running of the site.
• Program and coordinate all subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries. Ensure compliance with safety, industrial relations, and quality assurance requirements, and keep the Project Manager updated daily.
• Lead meetings with subcontractors, suppliers and the design team to discuss progress, work practices and ensure timely, professional construction progress.
• Ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with the contract documents, the requirements of local authorities and relevant standards, including the completion of all practical completion defects.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require:

• Strong building experience, with demonstrated success in delivering large, complex projects in a Site Manager capacity.
• Degree/Diploma in building/construction, or other recognised tertiary or trade qualification in a construction related field.
• Sound leadership skills and ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment.
• Proven high level of professionalism, maturity and candour in daily work ethic.
