Job summary

BESIX Watpac is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager / Senior Contracts Administrator to lead contract administration on large-scale Brisbane projects. Based in Brisbane with the Qld, NT & NZ Construction team, you will oversee head and subcontract requirements, plus mentor the commercial team to ensure strong cost controls.

Reporting to the Building Works department, the role emphasizes leadership, procurement oversight, and accurate financial reporting to support project success.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management or relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading contracts administration on large building projects, including mentoring and supervising others.
• Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business, working effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to cope with shifting work priorities to deliver results.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project contract administration, ensuring compliance with head contract and subcontract requirements.
• Manage procurement, trade package tendering, subcontractor negotiations, and budget performance.
• Prepare and administer subcontract agreements, variations, and progress claims.
• Monitor project financial performance through cost reporting, forecasting, variation tracking and commercial reporting.
• Provide commercial advice to project teams and maintain effective cost controls and contract management.
• Mentor, coach, and supervise Contracts Administrators, Cadets, and project administrative staff.
• Manage tender documentation, review submissions, and prepare tender recommendations.
