Job summary

BHP in Brisbane is seeking a Manager Procurement Site Engineering Projects to lead a team delivering contract strategies, tendering, and contract management for the BMA and NSW Energy Coal Sustaining Capital Projects portfolio. Brisbane-based with relocation support if needed.

The role focuses on translating strategy into operational plans, managing stakeholder relationships, and delivering value while upholding safety and compliance standards. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in commercial and contract management roles in capital projects.
• Track record of excellence in contract negotiation and people leadership.
• Tertiary qualifications in Management, Economics, QS or Construction Law.
• Strong business acumen with deep understanding of project execution and risks.
• Experience in strategic thinking, planning and risk management.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to tailor interactions to a wide variety of stakeholder groups.
• Experience managing a project portfolio of spend and interfaces.
• Negotiations and deal design skills.
• Claims prevention and management experience.
• Experience managing and supervising a team of professionals.
• Ability to operate in complex and ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to the team.
• Manage multiple stakeholder relationships across Procurement and Asset Engineering teams.
• Enable world class contract formation and management performance.
• Apply an understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency and value.

• Develop safe project delivery and contractor performance strategies.
