Job summary

Contract Personnel in Brisbane is seeking a senior Contracts professional on a contract basis to lead drafting, negotiation and project management for a mining client.

The role covers contract formation, governance and stakeholder management across remote sites, including PNG, under a Delegation of Authority framework. You will influence commercial risk allocation and ensure timely approvals while maintaining safety and core values.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years relevant experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
• Experience in the mining or resources industry will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate complex services and supply contracts from template through to execution with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of commercial risk allocation, including liability, indemnities, insurance, liquidated damages and termination, and the ability to explain it plainly to non-commercial stakeholders.
• Experience preparing approval papers within a formal Delegation of Authority framework.
• Ability to become productive quickly and deliver a high volume of output within a short fixed term.
• Demonstrated behaviours consistent with the client's core values and a strong personal commitment to safety.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and Pronto (or similar ERP system).
• Previous experience working in remote or developing regions, particularly Papua New Guinea, will be highly regarded.
