Job summary

Hooker and Heijden - Insurance and Underwriting Recruitment is seeking a Branch Manager to lead the Queensland commercial insurance operation from South Brisbane. You will drive growth, oversee a four-person team, and manage a small client book as needed.

This is a growth role focused on expansion, not a caretaker position. Three days in the office (Mon-Wed) with new South Brisbane offices and a clear mandate to build market share across South East Queensland, reporting to national management

• Commercial insurance broker with a track record of winning new business in Queensland.
• Experience leading or mentoring a broking team.
• Strong commercial network in South East Queensland.

About the Organisation

An established national Insurance Brokerage with offices in Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia. The Queensland branch has moved to new offices in South Brisbane.

About the Role

You'll lead the Queensland branch and drive its growth in commercial insurance. The team is four: two Account Managers, an all-rounder who manages a book and runs the office, and an assistant. You may also manage a small book. This is a growth role, not a caretaker role.

Responsibilities include

• Hands-on new business development to grow the branch's commercial book
• Leading and developing a team of four
• Managing a small client portfolio where required
• Overseeing branch operations and service standards
• Reporting on branch performance to national management

About You

You're a commercial broker with a track record of winning new business in Queensland. You may currently be a Branch Manager, a Senior Account Manager or an Account Director ready to lead a branch.

Ideally you'll bring:

• A strong commercial network in South East Queensland
• Experience leading or mentoring a broking team
