Job summary

Plumbers Co-op is seeking a Branch Manager at our Padstow location in NSW. You will lead a dynamic team, manage branch sales, profitability, safety and member experience, and drive growth across the Co-op network.

You will coach staff, oversee stock and operations, and partner with Account Managers to expand the Co-op member base while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience as a branch/store/trade counter manager in plumbing or building supplies is highly regarded.
• Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team and manage branch performance.
• Strong focus on WHS, stock management and delivering customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own the branch's sales performance, profitability and budgeting.
• Lead, coach and develop the branch team to meet targets.
• Drive safety culture and WHS compliance on-site.
• Grow the Co-op member base and enhance the member experience.
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations including stock, credits and stocktakes.

About you…

As the Branch Manager, you will:

• Have experience managing a branch, store or trade counter - ideally in plumbing, building or a related trade supplies environment (highly regarded but "not essential")
• Be a leader who can build a strong, capable team and hold a branch accountable to its numbers
• Be comfortable with operational detail (stock control, WHS, cash handling, as well as fostering the strategic vision of the Co-op
• Have a genuine interest in the trade and in backing tradespeople to help them succeed
• Be willing to lead and motivate a branch team to help drive strong customer relationships
• Develop and enhance the branch team culture in line with business objectives, values and mission
• Support your team to improve performance through on-going training and mentoring.
  

What you'll bring...

• Proven branch, retail or trade counter management experience (plumbing or building supplies highly regarded)
• A track record of leading teams and hitting sales and profit targets
• Strong WHS and stock/operations discipline
• A genuine interest in the trade and in backing our Co-op Members

About the role...

As the Branch Manager, you'll own the full performance of the branch, sales, profitability, safety, people and the day-to-day member experience.

You will:

• Drive sales initiatives and manage the branch's financial results, using budgeting and cost control to grow profitability
• Work with Co-op Account Managers to identify growth opportunities and expand our Co-op Member base
• Own WHS compliance, safety audits and a strong safety culture on-site
• Set the direction for your team, coach and develop your people, and manage day-to-day performance
• Manage the operational side of the branch (stock, credits, opening and closing, stocktakes).
• Keep the Co-op Member experience front and centre
