Dahlsens Building Centres Pty in Fyshwick, ACT, is seeking a Branch Manager to lead daily operations, drive sales, and develop a high-performing team. You will manage budgets, stock, and customer relationships while delivering excellent service at the Fyshwick Trade branch.
The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, floor presence, and a commitment to safety and profitability within a 145-year-old, locally owned organisation.
Dahlsens Family Group of Companies is a proud, long-standing partner to Australia’s builders, from local trades and serious renovators to large-scale residential and commercial projects. As an Australian family owned and run business, we are committed to supporting the industry and the communities we serve. We offer a true whole-of-house solution, supporting the build from the ground up - from wall frames and trusses through to doors, hardware, windows, roofing, kitchens, bathrooms, and lifestyle cabinetry. We are here to make building simpler, smarter, and more reliable. With a legacy dating back to 1877, we continue to evolve, helping builders get the job done right and this is just the beginning.
*** Dahlsens Building Centres closes for a mandatory shutdown over the Christmas/New Year period, and as a new starter you are unlikely to have accrued enough annual leave to cover it, so leave without pay may apply - we’ll talk this through with you during the interview process ***
As the Branch Manager at our Fyshwick ACT Trade branch, you will take complete responsibility for the branch - its effective operation, running and achievement of budget through strong leadership of your team and the development of an exceptional customer‑centric culture across Canberra's local builders and trade customers.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will receive professional coaching, mentorship and support to set you up for success. You will ensure delivery schedules are met and exceeded daily, that customers are kept up to date on any delays to their orders, and that strong, long‑term relationships with builders and suppliers are built and maintained every day.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who leads from the front, gets stuck in with the team on the floor, and takes real pride in running a well‑run, profitable branch that customers keep coming back to.
