Job summary

Latrobe City Council in Traralgon is seeking a casual Box Office Administrator to be the welcoming face of GPAC, delivering excellent customer service, managing ticketing and front of house operations during performances and events.

You will handle point-of-sale transactions, respond to enquiries, support venue staff and volunteers, and help ensure smooth event delivery while maintaining accurate records and cash handling.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering customer service in reception, retail or similar environment.
  • Accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
  • Proficient with MS Office and basic ticketing/venue software.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to patrons, visitors and stakeholders across GPAC and other venues.
  • Manage ticketing, customer enquiries and point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide administrative support including financial processing, reporting and correspondence.
  • Support Front of House operations and act as Front of House Supervisor when rostered.
  • Collaborate with team members, volunteers and Front of House Officers to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Contribute to professional presentation and smooth operation of Council's venues.

$46.57 per hour (including 25% casual loading)

We're looking for a Box Office Administrator to join our Creative Venues, Events & Tourism team. In this role, you'll be the welcoming face of Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC), delivering exceptional customer service, supporting box office operations and helping create memorable experiences for patrons attending performances and events.

What You'll Be Doing

About You

You are a customer-focused and organised professional who enjoys helping people and creating positive experiences. You bring strong administration skills, excellent attention to detail and confidence working with a variety of systems and stakeholders.

You are comfortable managing competing priorities, handling cash and financial transactions accurately, and working as part of a collaborative team. An interest in the arts and entertainment industry would be highly regarded.

Key Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience providing a high level of customer service in a reception, retail, hospitality or similar customer-focused environment
  • Experience in administration, including cash handling, correspondence and maintaining accurate records
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn ticketing, point-of-sale and venue management software
