Job summary

NRMA Angourie Resort on the NSW North Coast is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to partner with the Resort Manager and support day-to-day operations across departments. This hands-on leadership role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences and mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience within a boutique resort, hotel or premium hospitality environment.
• Exposure to Food & Beverage, Events and Functions operations.
• Experience supporting multiple departments within a resort, hotel or tourism business.
• A collaborative leadership style and strong people management skills.
• Ability to build genuine relationships with guests, team members and stakeholders.
• Experience managing guest feedback and resolving issues with professionalism and care.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Financial acumen, including labour management, budgeting and cost control.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety and employment compliance requirements.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to jump in wherever required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Resort Manager in the day-to-day operation of the resort
• Lead, coach and develop teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences
• Foster a positive, engaged and guest-centric team culture
• Support departmental leaders with rostering, workforce planning and operational priorities
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training of team members
• Help monitor operational performance, labour costs and departmental budgets
• Ensure high standards of presentation, cleanliness and service are maintained across the resort
• Work closely with the Food & Beverage, Events and Day Spa teams to maximise guest satisfaction and commercial outcomes
• Assist in resolving guest concerns and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Champion workplace health, safety and compliance practices
