Job summary

FC Accounting Co in Brisbane is hiring an experienced Client Manager to lead a team of bookkeepers for hospitality clients. You will own client relationships, ensure accurate financial reporting and timely deliveries while coaching your team.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong accounting skills, exceptional client communication and a passion for helping hospitality and food business owners improve profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a senior bookkeeping, client management or similar accounting role.
• Strong technical bookkeeping skills, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Experience reviewing the work of other bookkeepers or managing a small team.
• Confidence communicating directly with clients and resolving issues.

The Role

As a Client Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of hospitality clients while leading and supporting a team of bookkeepers.

You'll be responsible for ensuring financial information is accurate, deadlines are met and clients receive the clarity and support they need to make informed business decisions.

This is a hands-on leadership position combining technical bookkeeping expertise, client relationship management and team development.

What success looks like

Oversee the accuracy and completeness of client bookkeeping and financial records.

Review balance sheet reconciliations, financial reports and payroll processes.

Identify discrepancies, resolve issues and maintain high standards of financial accuracy.

Help clients understand their financial position, cash flow and business performance.

Build trusted client relationships through proactive, professional communication.

Team Leadership & Accountability

Lead, support and develop a team of bookkeepers.

Manage workloads, priorities and deadlines across your client portfolio.

Review team output and provide constructive feedback and coaching.

Hold team members accountable for the timely and accurate completion of tasks.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes and service delivery.

Systems & Process Improvement

Support new client onboarding and ensure accounting files are set up correctly.

Maintain consistent bookkeeping processes across client accounts.

Identify opportunities to improve software utilisation, automation and reporting.

Champion best practices across our bookkeeping systems.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with the confidence to lead people and manage client relationships.

You'll ideally bring:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in a senior bookkeeping, client management or similar accounting role.

Strong technical bookkeeping skills, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.

Experience reviewing the work of other bookkeepers or managing a small team.

Confidence communicating directly with clients and resolving issues.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Proficiency in Xero and confidence working across cloud-based accounting systems.

A Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience with Dext, Hubdoc, Restoke, Deputy, Lightspeed, Square or other hospitality systems will be highly regarded.
