Job summary

Wilmar Sugar Australia Limited at Proserpine Mill in North Queensland seeks an Electrician to uphold electrical safety and reliability of operations. This permanent Day Work role in Mackay region offers a strong safety culture and opportunities to support efficient plant performance.

The role covers installation, calibration, maintenance, fault diagnosis, commissioning, and project work, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence with post-trade experience in heavy industry electrical or instrumentation work.
• CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certifications required.
• Cert 3 or 4 in Instrumentation preferred.
• Familiarity with LV motor control and PLC systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Power Up Equipment: Handle the installation, calibration, and maintenance of critical electrical systems.
• Diagnose and Optimize: Examine, troubleshoot, and fine-tune interconnected circuit systems.
• Keep Records Sharp: Manage and maintain departmental plans, databases, and essential documentation.
• System Commissioning & Tuning: Commission and fine-tune electrical systems for peak performance.
• Master Complex Control Systems: Fault find in advanced control systems including pneumatic, electronic, microprocessor-based subsystems.
• Lead Special Projects: Collaborate on projects driving innovation and improvement.
• Be a Safety Champion: Actively participate in safety improvement teams.

As an Electrician you'll play a vital role in maintaining the electrical safety and reliability of our operations at Proserpine Mill. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring our equipment and systems run smoothly, helping us maintain the highest safety standards and operational efficiency.

This position is based in North Queensland's Mackay region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The Mackay region offers a fantastic lifestyle with a warm climate, beautiful beaches and a range of recreational activities, making it a great place to live and work. This is a permanent Day Work position in our factory.

Your Role in Action

• Power Up Equipment: Handle the installation, calibration, and maintenance of critical electrical systems, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

• Master Complex Control Systems: Tackle fault finding in advanced electrical control systems, working with combinations of pneumatic, electronic, microprocessor-based, and mechanical subsystems.
• Lead Special Projects: Take charge and collaborate on exciting special projects that drive innovation and improvement.
• Be a Safety Champion: Show a strong commitment to safety and actively participate in safety improvement teams.

Your Winning Combination

We're looking for a motivated individual with a current Queensland Electrical Work Licence and post-trade experience in heavy industry electrical or instrumentation work. Current CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certifications are required. Ideally, you'll also have a Cert 3 or 4 in Instrumentation, experience with fixed plant maintenance, and familiarity with LV motor control and PLC systems. Don't have all of the skills yet?
