Job summary

Wilmar Sugar Australia is hiring an Electrician for the Proserpine Mill in North Queensland. The role focuses on installing, calibrating, maintaining electrical systems and driving fault finding across complex control systems.

A current Queensland Electrical Work Licence and heavy industry experience are required, with CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certifications essential. Ideally, candidates will have Instrumentation certification (3/4), LV motor control and PLC familiarity, plus a willingness to

• Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence and post-trade experience in heavy industry electrical or instrumentation.
• CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certifications are required.
• Cert 3/4 in Instrumentation with experience in fixed plant maintenance, LV motor control and PLC systems; training provided to grow.

Responsibilities

• Power Up Equipment: Install, calibrate and maintain critical electrical systems.
• Diagnose and optimize: Troubleshoot interconnected circuit systems to keep operations running smoothly.
• Keep Records Sharp: Maintain departmental plans, databases and essential documentation.
• System Commissioning & Tuning: Commission and fine-tune electrical systems for peak performance.
• Master Complex Control Systems: Fault finding in advanced electrical control systems with LV and PLCs.
• Lead Special Projects: Lead and collaborate on high-impact projects.
• Be a Safety Champion: Actively participate in safety initiatives.

This position is based in North Queensland's Mackay region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. This is a permanent Day Work position in our factory.

Your Role in Action

• Power Up Equipment: Handle the installation, calibration, and maintenance of critical electrical systems, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Your Winning Combination

We're looking for a motivated individual with a current Queensland Electrical Work Licence and post-trade experience in heavy industry electrical or instrumentation work. Current CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certifications are required. Ideally, you'll also have a Cert 3 or 4 in Instrumentation, experience with fixed plant maintenance, and familiarity with LV motor control and PLC systems. Don't have all of the skills yet?
