Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a Boilermaker/Welder.
• Strong steel fabrication and welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel and stainless components to specs.
• Weld and fabricate per engineering drawings.
• Repair, modify and maintain plant/equipment.
• Read drawings and measure components accurately.
• Operate workshop machinery safely and efficiently.
• Ensure high-quality workmanship and meet deadlines.
• Maintain clean, organized workshop and safety procedures.

You’ll be working on a varied range of fabrication, welding, repair and maintenance projects — so no two days will be exactly the same.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricating steel and stainless-steel components for plant and equipment
• Welding and fabrication to engineering specifications
• Repairing, modifying and maintaining plant and equipment
• Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings
• Measuring, marking, fitting and assembling components
• Setting up and safely operating workshop machinery and hand tools
• Using specialist measuring equipment
• Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring work meets required standards
• Working to production deadlines while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
• Following safe work procedures and maintaining a clean and organised workshop

About you

• 5+ years' experience as a Boilermaker/Welder
• Strong experience in steel fabrication and welding
• Experience working with structural, heavy or general fabrication
• Experience welding various grades of steel and/or stainless steel
• Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings
• A strong understanding of WHS and safe work practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Pride in producing quality work
• Current C-Class Manual Driver's Licence (essential)
• Forklift Licence (essential)
• Dogging / Dogger's ticket ( desired)
• Additional lifting or rigging qualifications ( desired)
