J&S Engineering in Rutherford is seeking an experienced Boilermaker for our Hunter workshop. You will join a team focused on precision fabrication and heavy components for mining, with real opportunities for skilled growth and long-term employment.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate (Boilermaker) is required.
• Experience in a machine shop or precision workshop environment.
• MIG welding experience.
• Ability to pass weld qualification test to AS1554.5.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• High attention to detail and quality.
• Solid understanding of workshop safety.

The Role

Working within our machine shop environment, you’ll support the manufacture, repair and reclamation of precision mining components, working closely with machinists and engineers.

You’ll be involved in:

• Precision fabrication and weld preparation for machined components
• Interpreting engineering drawings and tolerances
• Working to tight specifications to support machining processes
• Welding to high-quality standards
• Maintaining dimensional accuracy and alignment
• Working to ISO 9001 quality systems

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Trade Certificate (Boilermaker)
• Experience in a machine shop or precision workshop environment
• MIG welding experience
• Ability to pass weld qualification test to AS1554.5
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• High attention to detail and quality
• Solid understanding of workshop safety
• Reliable, team-oriented work ethic

Desirable (but not essential):

• ID welding experience (highly desirable)
• High Risk licences (Forklift, Dogging, EWP, Working at Heights)
• Confined Space
