Job summary

Carrapateena, a key BHP operation in South Australia, seeks a Superintendent Block Cave Mining to lead the build of Australia’s next block cave mine. You will drive safety-focused delivery, team leadership and strategic execution across planning, design and field operations.

Based at Carrapateena with FIFO schedule and relocation support, you will partner with cross-functional teams to optimise the mine plan and ensure safe, efficient, and cost-conscious production.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the execution of an operational block cave project.
• Experience in senior technical and operational roles.
• Engineering degree in relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

• Deliver execution strategies for Block Cave and SLC development mining.
• Lead planning and execution teams to align mine plan with safety, production and cost targets.
• Collaborate with planning teams to optimise mine design and schedules.
• Manage change within a high-growth program of work.
• Build and develop a high-performing, balanced team.
• Oversee QA programs for development including mass excavations.
• Act as delegate for day-to-day operations as required.
