Job summary

BHP Group is seeking a Lead Project Delivery professional for Carrapateena, reporting to the Superintendent Projects. This senior role manages multidisciplinary brownfield and sustaining capital projects from sub-$1M to over $30M, ensuring governance, delivery, and performance across the portfolio.

The candidate will lead a team, drive risk and cost controls, and coordinate across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and HSE in a live mining environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or related field.
• Significant mining/oil & gas/heavy industry project delivery experience.
• Lead/Senior project role experience on multi‑discipline brownfield projects.

Responsibilities

• Own portfolio-level reporting on safety, scope, cost, schedule, risk and quality.
• Review and challenge project estimates, forecasts, change requests and approvals.
• Ensure robust risk and opportunity management, including HAZOP, CHAZOP and safety in design reviews.
• Oversee contracting strategy, contractor and consultant performance, and commercial outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes, tools and standards.
• Build relationships with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Asset Management, Supply and HSE.
• Coordinate interfaces across concurrent projects and shutdowns to minimise production impact.
• Support portfolio planning, capital forecasting and forward project pipeline.
