Job summary

Coal Services Pty Limited is seeking an experienced PIAWE/Benefits Manager to lead end-to-end benefits payments for workers. Based in Speers Point or Sydney with hybrid options, you will oversee weekly entitlements, monitor claims, and mentor the team to ensure compliance and timely delivery.

This fixed-term 12-month role focuses on accuracy, stakeholder management, and adherence to policy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in workers compensation, ideally within a claims environment.
• Experience managing or overseeing benefit payments.
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Leadership or mentoring experience (highly regarded).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the accurate and timely payment of workers’ benefits
• Approve weekly benefit payments within delegation of authority
• Monitor and maintain a portfolio of claims, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
• Identify, code and process complex payments within the claims system
• Ensure employment and compensation data is up to date and accurate
• Manage internal and external stakeholder enquiries related to worker entitlements
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal guidelines
• Mentor and support team members to drive performance and consistency
• Collaborate to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
• Maintain a strong customer‑focused approach aligned with CMI values
