Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a Senior Claims Assessor for Workers Compensation to manage an end-to-end portfolio of claims in NSW. The role focuses on prompt, accurate, and commercially effective handling in line with NSW legislation and SIRA requirements.

You will provide effective case management, liaise with the Work Health and Safety Unit, and coordinate with external providers to support early return-to-work outcomes. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Experience managing workers' compensation claims for a self-insured organisation.
• Knowledge of NSW Self-Insurers Association guidelines.
• SIRA endorsed Return To Work Certificate.
• Current C Class Licence.

Responsibilities

• Process an end-to-end portfolio of workers' compensation claims in line with legislation and council procedures.
• Review liability decisions and determine accept/decline where delegated.
• Support complex claim declinations and dispute decisions with evidence-based rationale.
• Provide early return-to-work advisory services to mitigate lost time.
• Coordinate with external service providers including solicitors and medical examiners.
• Liaise with Work Health and Safety Unit for injury investigations and 3-point contact process.
