Job summary

Shangri-La Sydney is seeking a Casual Chef de Partie to join our Banquets Kitchen. You will be experienced in various cooking techniques with a flair for creativity and knowledge of grill, larder and pastry sections.

A passion for hospitality and presenting high-quality dishes using seasonal Australian produce is essential. You must have excellent communication skills to work in a busy environment and support the development of other Chefs, including Commis and Demi Chefs, Cooks and Apprentices.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is mandatory.
• Food safety certificate required.
• Experience in Banquets Kitchen preferred.
• Able to work in a busy, fast-paced environment and support junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing banquet kitchen sections and ensure high standards of plating and presentation.
• Support development of junior Chefs including Commis and Demi Chefs, Cooks and Apprentices.
• Maintain safety, hygiene and consistency in a high-volume service.
