Job summary

Valentine Bowling Club in NSW's Lake Macquarie region is seeking a passionate Banquet/Function Chef to join our kitchen team. This full-time role involves a 4-day rotating roster, including evenings and weekends, and delivering high-quality food for our members and guests.

You will oversee daily catering and function services, maintain consistency and food safety, and work closely with the Head Chef and front-of-house to ensure smooth service at events and dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience as banquet/function chef or similar commercial kitchen role.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the preparation and delivery of daily catering and function services, ensuring all requirements are met to a high standard.
• Maintaining consistency, quality and presentation across all dishes and services.
• Supporting the wider kitchen team during high-volume service periods, ensuring efficient and timely food preparation.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety in accordance with procedures.
• Collaborating with Head Chef and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.
