Job summary

Mount Cotton Sourdough Bakers in Brisbane, QLD is seeking a Store Manager for a 12-month maternity leave contract, with the possibility of ongoing employment. You will lead the daily operation of the bakery, supervise the retail team, and ensure high standards of service and product quality.

Ideal candidates will have strong customer service skills, be confident leaders, and able to manage stock, cash handling, and POS/Cybake systems while maintaining food safety and OH&S compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and motivating teams in a fast-paced retail/bakery environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and a passion for connecting with the local community.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities with attention to detail.
• Experience overseeing stock/inventory, stock rotation, and merchandising to maintain an attractive storefront.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and OH&S standards in a retail bakery setting.
• Experience with cash handling, banking, and sales reporting.
• Familiarity with POS software and Cybake workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operation of the bakery, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a very high standard.
• Supervise and motivate the retail team, fostering a positive workplace culture.
• Proven experience in leading and motivating teams.

• Strong organisation and communication skills.
• Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and ensuring stock levels are maintained.
• Oversee merchandising, stock rotation, and maintaining an attractive shopfront.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety standards at all times for the retail team.
• Participate in hands‑on baking and preparation as required, maintaining the quality and consistency of our products.
• Oversee financial management including cash handling, banking, and sales reporting.
• Operation of POS software.
• Operation of Cybake software.
