Job summary

Bakers Delight Pender Place in Maitland NSW is seeking a motivated, energetic Qualified Baker to join the bakery team. This full-time role offers approximately 38 hours per week with a flexible roster including early shifts from 4 AM to 12:00 PM.

As a Baker, you will prepare and produce quality bakery products, inspect equipment for safety, and train apprentices under supervision. Previous experience or Certificate III in Baking is advantageous.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have experience in a bakery setting or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail bakery environment.
• Willingness to train and supervise apprentices and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce bakery products according to BDH recipes.
• Inspect equipment and premises for safety compliance.
• Weigh ingredients and monitor quality standards.
• Mix, knead, shape dough and pastry goods.
• Prepare pastry fillings for various baked products.
• Operate machines for rolling, moulding, and cutting dough.
• Monitor ovens and determine baking times.
• Coordinate forming, baking, cooling, and de-panning.
• Glaze buns and decorate cakes.
• Clean and maintain baking trays and equipment.

Bakers Delight Pender Place is seeking motivated, enthusiastic and energetic Qualified Baker to join the Bakery.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and production of quality bakery products to Bakers Delight. Training will be provided for BDH recipe.
• Inspect equipment and premisesbefore production to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
• Evaluate raw materials and weigh ingredientsto maintain quality standards.
• Mix, knead, mature, cut, mould, and shapedough and pastry goods.
• Prepare pastry fillingsfor various baked products.
• Operate machinesfor rolling, moulding dough, and cutting biscuits.
• Monitor oven temperatures and product appearanceto determine optimal baking times.
• Coordinate the forming, baking, cooling, and de-panningof bread, rolls, and pastry batches.
• Glaze buns and pastriesand decorate cakes with icing or cream.
• Clean, grease, and empty baking trays, tins, and equipmentafter use.

To be considered for this role you need to be able to meet the following selection criteria.

• Ability to be available for work across the 7 days of the week, which may include evening work and some public holidays (starting times can be as early as 4am)
• Work in a fast-paced team environment and communicate with customers and staff.

• Complete duties as directed by your manager/supervisor
• Abide by company policies and procedures at all times
• Train, develop and supervise apprentices and staff in the Bakery Department
• Applicants with Minimum of 1 year experience or Certificate III in Baking, as a Baker will have advantage for this role.
