Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training or AQF Certificate IV or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in the related position.
• Strong knowledge of baking methods, ingredients, and bakery production processes.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the cleanliness and condition of equipment and production areas before commencing work.
• Assess the quality and freshness of raw materials and weigh ingredients according to production requirements.
• Prepare and portion pastry fillings and other ingredients required for baking.
• Mix, knead, mature, cut, mould and shape dough and pastry products.
• Operate dough sheeting, moulding and biscuit-cutting machinery to produce products to specifications.
• Monitor oven temperatures, baking conditions and product appearance to determine baking times and quality.
• Coordinate preparation, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of baked goods.
• Apply glazes and decorate cakes using icing and finishing materials.
• Clean, empty and grease baking trays and equipment to maintain hygiene.
