Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design, construction, and refurbishment of critical aviation facilities such as Fire Stations, Control Towers, and Air Traffic Service Centres in Melbourne or Brisbane.

You will provide technical input across the project lifecycle, working with design consultants and internal teams to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance of mechanical building services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in mechanical building services engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• State-based engineering registration (e.g. RPEQ or RPEV), or the ability to obtain registration.
• Strong design knowledge across HVAC, ventilation, heating, and associated systems.
• Familiarity with building services plant including air compressors, generators, fuel systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS).

Responsibilities

• Provide input across design, testing, and commissioning of mechanical infrastructure projects.
• Review designs with external consultants to ensure Airservices requirements are met.
• Contribute to design reviews and coordinate feedback for Airservices.
• Support project managers to meet scope, budget, and program requirements.
• Attend testing activities including site acceptance testing and user acceptance tests.
