Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, delivery, testing and commissioning of critical mechanical infrastructure across aviation facilities. You will mentor engineers, coordinate with external consultants and stakeholders, and drive safety, reliability and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years’ experience in mechanical building services engineering.
• State-based registration or ability to obtain registration.
• Strong HVAC, ventilation, heating design knowledge.
• Experience with testing, commissioning, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium to major mechanical building services projects from concept design through to construction, testing and commissioning.
• Be the discipline lead, taking ownership of mechanical engineering outcomes from concept design through to construction and testing.
• Review concept, schematic and detailed designs with external design consultants.
• Contribute to design reviews, coordinating feedback on behalf of Airservices
• Support project managers in planning to meet scope, budget and program requirements.
• Communicate to senior management on project status, risks and dependencies
• Undertake construction inspections to ensure compliance to design and build requirements.
• Attend testing activities including site acceptance testing and user acceptance tests.
