Technical Solutions Specialist - Automotive

Technical Solutions Specialist - Automotive - Mechanical or Electrical

An established, Australian-owned vehicle manufacturing business is looking for a Technical Solutions Specialist to join their Melbourne team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role for someone who has worked on the tools and wants to step into something broader, without leaving the technical side behind. You'll be the link between customers and the engineering team: understanding what customers need on the ground, working out what's feasible, and making sure it gets built right. It's not a sales role, and there are no sales targets. Your job is to know the products inside out and turn real customer needs into practical, buildable solutions alongside the engineers.

What you'll be doing:

• Working directly with customers to understand what they need and what will actually work for them
• Using your trade experience to judge feasibility and spec the right solution
• Partnering with the engineering team, who handle the detailed design and drawings
• Building deep product knowledge across vehicle fit-outs, including EV and hybrid builds
• Keeping jobs moving smoothly from first enquiry through to build

What you'll bring:

• A trade background (mechanical or electrical), earned on the tools
• Around 3 to 5 years of experience, ideally including time working with customers
• The practical know-how to look at a job and know what's possible and what isn't
• Strong communication and a knack for solving problems on the ground

Experience in automotive, light commercial vehicles, caravans, 4WD fit-outs, vehicle electrical, or a related trade will be highly regarded.
