Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics in Western Sydney seeks a Maintenance & Operations Manager to establish and operate one of Australia’s most advanced automated distribution facilities. You will build and lead the maintenance and operations team, ensuring flawless go-live and sustained performance.

You will drive KPIs, develop maintenance strategies, and serve as the primary customer contact for service delivery, incident management, and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience within industrial, manufacturing, logistics, mining, or highly automated operational environments.
• Demonstrated experience establishing, commissioning, or scaling a new service operation, warehouse, or industrial facility.
• Strong maintenance management expertise, including CMMS platforms, reliability strategies, and asset lifecycle management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams while balancing safety, customer outcomes, uptime, and cost performance.
• Relevant trade, engineering, technical, or business qualification, combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies such as TPS, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence practices.

Responsibilities

• Establish, recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing maintenance and operations team for a major greenfield automated logistics site.
• Lead the successful transition from project delivery to operational service, ensuring site readiness before go-live.
• Drive system performance through achievement of KPIs across uptime, OEE, reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and continuously improve maintenance strategies, asset management frameworks, and spare parts processes.
• Act as the primary customer contact for operational performance, service delivery, escalations, and incident management.
• Utilise data, CMMS systems, and performance analytics to optimise maintenance effectiveness and equipment reliability.
• Foster a strong safety-first culture while leading continuous improvement initiatives across people, processes, and technology.
