Job summary

MacKellar Group in Queensland seeks an experienced Auto Electrician to join our Roaming Excavator Crew. This specialist role involves fault-finding, diagnosing complex electrical issues, and supporting multiple mining operations.

You will travel between Central Queensland mine sites to service Liebherr hydraulic excavators, work with site teams to keep equipment safe and reliable, and contribute to a skilled maintenance team on a 7/7 roster.

Qualifications

• Australian-recognised Auto Electrical trade qualification.
• Experience on heavy mobile plant in a mining environment.
• Strong electrical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with Liebherr excavators will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist Auto Electrical support across multiple sites.
• Travel between Central Queensland mine sites to service the excavator fleet.
• Work with site maintenance teams to keep equipment operating safely and reliably.

MacKellar is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our Roaming Excavator Crew. This is a specialist role for someone who enjoys fault-finding, solving complex electrical issues and working across different mining operations.

You’ll travel between sites to provide additional maintenance support, working closely with site teams to keep our excavator fleet operating safely and reliably.

The Role

As part of the Roaming Excavator Crew, you’ll provide specialist Auto Electrical support where it’s needed most.

• Australian-recognised Auto Electrical trade qualification
• Experience working on heavy mobile plant in a mining environment
• Strong electrical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience with Liebherr excavators will be highly regarded
• Ability to work independently and alongside site-based maintenance teams
• Strong safety focus and commitment to quality workmanship
• Willingness and ability to travel between Central Queensland mine sites
