Job summary

MacKellar Group is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our Roaming Excavator Crew in Central Queensland. You will travel between mining sites to provide maintenance support, fault-finding complex electrical issues, and keep Liebherr hydraulic excavators operating safely and reliably.

• Auto Electrical trade qualification (Australian-recognised)
• Experience working on heavy mobile plant in a mining environment
• Strong electrical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience with Liebherr excavators will be highly regarded
• Ability to work independently and alongside site-based maintenance teams
• Strong safety focus and commitment to quality workmanship
• Willingness and ability to travel between Central Queensland mine sites

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support across Central Queensland mine sites
• Travel between sites to support excavator fleet
• Perform fault-finding and diagnostics on heavy mobile plant
• Work with site-based maintenance teams to ensure safety and reliability
• Maintain high safety and quality workmanship standards

Job description

MacKellar is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our Roaming Excavator Crew. This is a specialist role for someone who enjoys fault-finding, solving complex electrical issues and working across different mining operations.

You’ll travel between sites to provide additional maintenance support, working closely with site teams to keep our excavator fleet operating safely and reliably.
