Job summary

Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) is seeking a Casual Education Support role at Vern Barnett School, covering Forestville, Lane Cove and Eastwood NSW. You will support students with autism and other needs, helping with learning goals, social skills and daily living tasks.

Work is team-based with school psychologists, speech therapists and occupational therapists to deliver tailored programs. NSW Working with Children Check required, travel across sites may be needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or other intellectual disability.
• Experience implementing Individual Plans (desirable).
• Knowledge of transitioning students into mainstream settings.
• Certificate III in Education Support or other relevant tertiary qualification (desirable).
• Effective communication skills.
• First Aid Certificate (desirable).
• Current driver's licence may be essential depending on location.
• Capacity to travel across sites (Forestville, Lane Cove & Eastwood).
• NSW Working with Children Check required.
• International police check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support students in learning, social skills, hygiene and behaviour supports.
• Help create learning environments tailored to individual needs using evidence-informed practice.
• Collaborate with school psychologist, speech and OT to deliver quality learning programs.
• Assist with small class sizes and family engagement to identify student goals.
