Job summary

Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) is seeking casual teachers for Term 4, 2026, across Forestville, NSW, with the option to work at satellite classes in Lane Cove, Eastwood and St Ives. Roles offer $61–$77 per hour (incl.

casual loading) plus a special education allowance and superannuation, with flexible placements across the region. Candidates should have experience with autistic learners, NSW WWCC clearance, and a valid driver's licence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with other intellectual disability.
• NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
• Essential to have a current driver's licence.
• A Light Rigid (LR) driver's licence (desirable).
• You may be required to provide an international police clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create a learning environment tailored to individual needs using evidence-informed practices.
• Work in small classes with teacher aide support to deliver learning programs.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary staff to develop and deliver quality learning programs.
• Contribute to a multi-disciplinary approach to support student progress and development.

• Casual teaching employment opportunities available from Term 4, 2026
• $61 - $77 per hour (incl. casual loading) + special education allowance & superannuation
• Located at Aspect Vern Barnett School at Forestville, NSW or at one of the satellite classes in the region. Satellite Classes are based in Lane Cove, Eastwood and St Ives (Permanent employees must be available to work there if needed in the future)

What you will do:

Aspect is a leader in education for children on the autism spectrum. Working at Aspect means you will be supported by a team of passionate professional educators. You will help create a learning environment that tailors to the individual needs of students through evidence informed best practice in autism. Class sizes are small and you always have the assistance of a dedicated teacher aide. You will work closely in a team that includes the student, family, teacher aide and other professionals such as our school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists to develop and deliver quality learning programs. This wrap-around multi-disciplinary approach to support means that you will gain new skills and work experience that can help you reach your professional goals.

About the School:

Aspect Vern BarnettSchool provides placement for approximately 100 students on the autism spectrum from ages 4 to 16 years from Forestville, as well as from 4 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education Schools in Sydney’s northern suburbs.
