Job summary

Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) is seeking casual Education Support staff for Vern Barnett School, with locations at Forestville, Lane Cove and Eastwood NSW. You will support students with autism in small class settings, helping them achieve learning goals and build essential life skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or other intellectual disability.
• Knowledge of transitioning students into mainstream settings.
• Certificate III in Education Support or other relevant tertiary qualification (desirable).
• Current driver's licence may be essential depending on location.
• Light Rigid (LR) driver's licence (desirable).
• Capacity to travel across all sites in the area (Forestville, Lane Cove & Eastwood).
• NSW Working with Children Check required.
• International police check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support students with learning, social skills and personal care.
• Help create learning environments tailored to individual needs using evidence-informed practices.
• Collaborate with school psychologists, speech therapists and occupational therapists to deliver quality programs.
