Job summary

Peabody Energy, Inc. seeks a driven Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end Australian payroll, time and attendance, and regulatory compliance across SAP and connected platforms in Brisbane.

You will manage a five-person team, partner with HR and site operations, and drive process improvements to ensure accurate, on-time pay. The role reports to the Senior Manager – Global Payroll Process & Systems with some mine-site travel and a hybrid work model in Fortitude Valley.

Qualifications

• End-to-end AU payroll management experience including T&A and leave controls.
• Experience with SAP and payroll systems and regulatory reporting.
• Proven leadership of a payroll team and cross-functional partners.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated data analytics and ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Australian payroll focusing on validation, governance and controls.
• Manage time and attendance, ensuring accurate leave accruals and balances are maintained.
• Deliver compliant reporting and payments to third parties (super, STP, PAYG, levies, remittances).
• Create and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with HR, mine operations and corporate functions.
• Lead payroll data analytics to provide insights to leaders and drive improvements.
• Lead payroll change projects: system testing, communications and adoption.
