Job summary

Event Equipment in Sydney is seeking a hands-on Audio Visual Technician to join our team. You’ll manage the full event lifecycle from warehouse prep to on-site install and pack down, handling LED walls, audio, video, and lighting gear.

You will work with Rentman and other industry-leading tech, coordinating with clients and venues to ensure flawless delivery. A fast-paced, collaborative environment awaits with opportunities to mentor junior crew.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, test and maintain AV equipment prior to events.
• Build pack lists and allocate equipment using Rentman software.
• Load, unload and transport equipment safely and efficiently.
• Install, operate and dismantle audio visual systems on-site.
• Maintain accurate equipment tracking and inventory control.
• Coordinate with clients, venues and production teams for smooth delivery.
• Supervise junior technicians and casual crew as needed.
• Ensure all work complies with WHS requirements.

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Audio Visual Technician to join our Sydney team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position working across the full event lifecycle, from warehouse preparation and logistics through to on-site installation, operation and pack down.

You will work with a broad range of industry-leading technology including LED walls, professional audio systems, vision switching, digital displays and event lighting. The role offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to work on some of Australia's most exciting events.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, test and maintain AV equipment prior to events
• Build pack lists and allocate equipment using Rentman software
• Load, unload and transport equipment safely and efficiently
• Install, operate and dismantle audio visual systems on-site
• Maintain accurate equipment tracking and inventory control
• Coordinate with clients, venues and production teams to ensure smooth event delivery
• Supervise and support junior technicians and casual crew when required
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with WHS requirements

About You

You are passionate about events and technology and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience within the AV, events or production industry
• Strong knowledge of audio, video, LED and lighting systems
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and customer service abilities
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Current Australian Driver's Licence (essential)

• Experience with Rentman or similar inventory software
• EWP Licence

• HR Licence
• Experience leading crews or supervising event installations
