Job summary

NW Group in Sydney seeks an Audio Technician to join our team delivering high-quality sound across major corporate events, live entertainment and performing arts productions. This hands-on role covers setup, testing, operation and on-site troubleshooting for conferences, galas, launches, concerts and theatre.

You will install, operate and troubleshoot audio systems, mix FOH and monitors as needed, and coordinate with technical directors, production managers and clients while ensuring safety and

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Audio Technician to join our Sydney team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on live events role for an audio professional who takes pride in delivering clear, reliable and high-quality sound.

You will work across a broad variety of productions, from conferences, gala dinners and product launches to concerts, theatre, festivals and other live entertainment events.

• Preparing, testing and maintaining professional audio equipment
• Installing and operating audio systems for live events
• Mixing front of house and monitors where required
• Setting up microphones, wireless systems, consoles, stage boxes and communications equipment
• Assisting with system design, signal flow and equipment selection
• Testing and troubleshooting audio systems onsite
• Working closely with technical directors, production managers, other departments and clients
• Supervising crew and providing technical guidance where appropriate
• Ensuring equipment is safely installed, operated and returned
• Maintaining accurate equipment and job documentation
• Representing NW Group professionally at venues and client events

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about live audio and enjoys working as part of a professional production team.

Ideally, you will bring:

• A minimum of two years’ experience as an Audio Technician in live events
• Experience working across corporate events, arts or live entertainment productions
• Strong knowledge of digital audio consoles, professional loudspeaker systems, wireless microphones and communications systems
• A sound understanding of signal flow, gain structure, patching and audio networking
• The ability to install, operate and troubleshoot audio systems confidently
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A professional approach when working with clients, venues and other suppliers
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to technical excellence
• The ability to remain calm and solve problems under pressure
• A reliable, flexible and positive attitude
• The ability to work event-related hours, including some evenings and weekends

A current driver’s licence is preferred. Relevant licences, training or industry certifications will also be highly regarded.
