Job summary

Bluestone Recruitment is assisting a national property and construction consultancy to appoint an Associate Quantity Surveyor for a broad portfolio of private-sector projects across Australia.

You will lead cost management activities, prepare bills of quantities, provide strategic commercial advice and manage client relationships. The role supports professional development and flexible working arrangements, including a work-from-home option.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in quantity surveying or cost management.
• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Experience with private sector projects, ideally in consultancy.
• Strong cost planning, estimating, procurement and contract administration.

About the Role

As an Associate Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality cost management and quantity surveying services across a diverse portfolio of private sector projects.

You will be responsible for

• Managing cost planning, estimating and cost reporting across projects from feasibility through to completion.
• Providing commercial and strategic cost advice to clients, developers and project stakeholders.
• Preparing and reviewing bills of quantities, tender documentation, procurement advice and contract variations.
• Managing client relationships and working closely with project teams, consultants and contractors.
• Supporting the development of junior team members while contributing to the growth of the broader business.

Experience Required

• 5+ years' experience within quantity surveying, cost management or a related construction/commercial environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Strong experience working across private sector projects, ideally within a consultancy environment.
• Excellent understanding of cost planning, estimating, procurement and contract administration.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage directly with clients.
• A commercial mindset with the ability to provide strategic advice and identify project risks and opportunities.
