Job summary

Jacobs is building its acoustic capabilities across Australia and New Zealand. We seek a Senior or Associate Acoustics Consultant to own projects from a strong pipeline, grow technically and as a leader, and contribute to our global acoustics practice.

Your focus is environmental noise and vibration assessment for major energy, infrastructure and transport projects across Australia, NZ and beyond. Building acoustics are optional.

Qualifications

• Degree in acoustics or related engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Approx 5 years (Senior) or approx 8 years (Associate) of experience in environmental noise and vibration.
• A practical, get-it-done attitude with workload ownership.
• Solid grounding in sound propagation and environmental monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Build and run noise models using SoundPLAN and CadnaA.
• Plan and carry out noise and vibration surveys, with site work.
• Lead technical discussions with clients, regulators and other consultants.
• Deliver projects end to end with minimal supervision.
• Prepare clear, defensible technical reports for EIAs, approvals and construction.
• Associate level: mentor graduates and help win new work.
