Job summary

Jacobs is expanding its acoustics team across Australia and New Zealand and is seeking a Senior or Associate Acoustics Consultant to join our Melbourne-based team. You will own projects, grow technically and as a leader, and contribute to the global acoustics practice.

Your focus will be environmental noise and vibration assessment for major renewable energy, infrastructure and transport projects across Australia, New Zealand and internationally, with opportunities in building acoustics as well.

Qualifications

• Degree in acoustics, civil/Mechanical engineering or physics.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Approx 5 years (Senior) or approx 8 years (Associate) of environmental noise and vibration experience.
• Practical, get-it-done attitude with workload ownership.
• Grounding in sound propagation and environmental monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Build and run noise models for road, rail, industrial, energy and construction projects and own the results.
• Plan and carry out noise and vibration surveys, with site work.
• Lead technical discussions with clients, regulators and other consultants.
• Help develop digital tools and smarter workflows for faster, better work.
• Deliver projects end to end (planning, client liaison, technical advice and reporting) with minimal supervision.
• Prepare clear technical reports for EIAs, approvals and construction; contribute to proposals and tenders.
• Associate level: review others' work, mentor graduates and help win new work.
