Job summary

NightOwl Convenience is seeking a dynamic, hands-on leader to support the Store Manager with daily store operations in Townsville, Queensland. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on their feet, taking initiative, and delivering a great customer experience.

Full-time and part-time opportunities exist. You will supervise shifts, train staff, manage stock and merchandising, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while maintaining high presentation standards and exceptional customer

Qualifications

• Retail experience with customer service focus.
• Experience in supervision or leadership roles.
• Fuel and convenience retail experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager with day-to-day operations.
• Lead and support team during shifts.
• Assist training and development of team members.
• Manage stock ordering, replenishment and inventory.
• Merchandise according to guidelines and promotions.
• Maintain high retail and presentation standards.
• Assist rostering and staffing needs.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the Store Manager with day-to-day store operations
• Leading and supporting team members during shifts
• Assisting with training and development of team members
• Stock ordering, replenishment and inventory management
• Merchandising according to store guidelines and promotional plans
• Maintaining high retail and presentation standards across the store
• Supporting rostering and day-to-day staffing requirements
• Ensuring fuel operations are safe and compliant with site procedures
• Supporting WHS requirements and safe work practices
• Delivering excellent customer service through helpful and friendly interactions
• Using initiative to identify and address tasks requiring attention
• Assisting with general store upkeep and cleanliness

About you

• Prior retail experience and strong customer service skills
• Previous supervisory, management or leadership experience is highly valued
• Fuel and convenience retail experience will be highly regarded
• Strong communication and team leadership skills
• A proactive, hands‑on approach
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment
