Job summary

Bunnings is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to lead daily store operations, sales and stock management across Newcastle and Hunter regions. You will report to the Site Manager and guide a team of 180+ staff, coordinating with department managers and support offices to deliver great customer experiences.

The role emphasizes safety, KPI delivery, stock integrity and continuous improvement, with weekend duties and occasional public holiday work.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of 50+ members with a focus on safety and wellbeing.
• Retail leadership in a high-volume customer-focused environment.
• Ability to coach Department Managers and drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead 50+ direct reports, open/close store on weekdays and weekends.
• Conduct safety walks, coach safe behaviours and risk mitigation.
• Monitor sales, margin and wage targets; implement improvement plans.
• Drive merchandising, stock accuracy and stocktake activities.
• Lead customer satisfaction and team engagement initiatives.
