Job summary

Bunnings Warehouse Newcastle and Hunter Valley is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to lead day-to-day store operations, sales and stock in a high‑volume environment. Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll guide a team of 50+ staff and work with department managers to deliver great customer service and safety standards.

You’ll drive performance through coaching, plan merchandising, monitor KPIs and ensure stock accuracy, while building a positive, inclusive team culture across the region.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of 50+ staff in a retail environment.
• Retail industry experience with high volume operations.
• Demonstrated focus on safety and wellbeing in the warehouse.
• Ability to coach and develop Department Managers and teams.
• Strong understanding of stock integrity, stocktakes and merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 50+ direct reports, including duty manager responsibilities on a 1 in 3 weekend roster.
• Conduct safety walks/audits and coach safe behaviours across the warehouse.
• Monitor sales, margins and wage targets; implement improvement plans.
• Drive stock accuracy, investigations into discrepancies and stocktake leadership.
• Focus on Customer Satisfaction and Team Engagement metrics.
