Job summary

Zambrero in Adelaide is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead breakfast and coffee service, coach the team, and uphold the highest guest experience standards.

You will manage daily operations, assist with hiring, training, rostering, stock control, and admin tasks, while ensuring food and beverage quality and WHS compliance, all within a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced hospitality environments.
• Barista experience or espresso machine skills preferred.
• Commitment to humanitarian values and positive culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead restaurant team in daily operations, including breakfast and coffee service.
• Assist in hiring, training, rostering, and resolving employee issues.
• Ensure high standards for food and coffee presentation.
• Oversee barista operations, including espresso machine setup and keeping the line moving in the morning rush.
• Assist with stock ordering and office administration duties.
• Manage daily/weekly cleaning of production areas, dining room and general restaurant.
• Ensure safety and security standards are recognised and upheld, and that WHS training is provided.

What you’ll do

Our Assistant Restaurant Managers take pride in preparing and serving fast, fresh, and healthy Mexican food with a smile. As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager with setting the highest standard in all areas of the restaurant including the customer experience, the workplace culture, and the financial results.

• Leading the restaurant team in efficient day to day operations including early morning breakfast and coffee service
• Assisting in managing your team, including hiring, training, rostering, and resolving any employee issues
• Ensuring food and coffee is prepared, presented, and served to the highest standard
• Overseeing barista operations, including espresso machine set-up, quality control, and keeping the coffee line moving during the morning rush
  
• Assisting with ordering of stock from various suppliers
• Assisting with office administration duties such as paperwork, banking, cash handling, and reviewing policies
• Managing daily and weekly cleaning of the production areas, dining room and general restaurant
• Ensuring safety and security standards are recognised and upheld, and that employees are effectively trained in Workplace Health and Safety
  

What you’ll bring

• Comfortable with early starts - our breakfast crew kicks things off before the sun's up
• Barista experience or espresso machine skills are a big plus (don't worry, we'll train you up if you're keen but new to coffee)
